Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

Account information

• Name, email address, and password (hashed)
• Profile photo and bio (optional)
• Google account details (if you sign in with Google)

Career Agent (candidates)

• Your onboarding answers: the roles you're pursuing, your city, experience level and availability
• Your portfolio: the photos you upload for each role, your self-description, website and social links, and follower count
• If you are a Model or content creator, the details you choose to add: gender, height, measurements, shoe size, hair and eye colour, and Digitals
• The date you confirmed you are 18 or older when you first made your profile visible
• Your conversations with the Career Agent and the notes it keeps to remember your goals across conversations ("Career Memory")
• Matches with recruiters' saved searches, intro requests, and your answers to them

skillbnb Hire (recruiters)

• The briefs you write and the searches you run, including the role, city and filters, and your feedback on results
• Reference photos you upload to search by example. They are analysed to describe the look you want and are not stored
• Saved searches, intro requests, and whether you hired a candidate

Messages

Messages exchanged on skillbnb, between Explorers and Providers or between recruiters and candidates who accepted an intro, are stored so both people can read the conversation.

Booking, questionnaire and CDI data

• Experience bookings, dates, payment amounts, check-in and check-out times
• Pre-session questionnaire responses and post-session feedback, including Provider feedback
• Career Decision Index (CDI) scores and later career-outcome check-ins

Payment information

Card details for bookings and for the Career Agent subscription are processed and stored by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; we receive payment and subscription status from Stripe.

Usage data

• Pages visited and features used, measured with Google Analytics
• Device type, browser, and IP address

2. How We Use Your Data

• To operate skillbnb: bookings, the Career Agent, and Hire
• To analyse portfolio photos with AI: we generate a description of the style of your work and tag each photo with the kind of work it shows (for example editorial or e-commerce). For roles other than Model, this describes your work, never the appearance of the people in your photos
• To show your profile in recruiters' search results and rank it against what they asked for
• To tell you about matches, intro requests, messages, and account activity by email
• To calculate your CDI score and recommend experiences
• To process payments, subscriptions and Provider payouts
• To prevent fraud and abuse, investigate disputes, and enforce our Terms
• To improve matching and our AI features, for example by learning from recruiters' feedback on search results

3. Who Can See Your Profile

Your Career Agent profile is hidden by default. Recruiters can find you only after you turn on "Share my portfolio with clients", and you can turn it off at any time.

• While visible: recruiters on skillbnb Hire can see your first name, city, roles, portfolio photos, self-description and, for Models, the details you added.
• Only after you accept an intro request: that recruiter can also see your full name and social links, and message you.
• Never: recruiters don't see your email address, your Career Agent conversations, Career Memory, or CDI scores unless you share them.

Search rankings are recommendations. A recruiter decides whom to contact, and you decide whether to accept. No decision with legal or similarly significant effect is made about you by automated means alone.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

• Contract performance to provide bookings, the Career Agent subscription and Hire.
• Consent to make your profile visible to recruiters, and for analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time; it doesn't affect processing done before.
• Legitimate interests to keep skillbnb safe, prevent fraud, and improve our services.
• Legal obligation to comply with applicable laws, such as tax and accounting rules.

5. Service Providers

We share data with these categories of providers, only as needed to run skillbnb:

• Payment processing (Stripe) for payments and subscriptions (Stripe's Privacy Policy).
• Cloud hosting and storage, with our database and photos stored in the EU.
• AI service providers, for Career Agent conversations, reading recruiters' briefs, analysing portfolio and reference photos, and search. They may not use this data to train their models.
• Email delivery and customer support chat.
• Google, for optional sign-in and Google Analytics.

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, notably in the United States, under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. You can ask us for the current list of providers at contact@skillbnb.io.

6. Data Retention

• Account data is kept for as long as your account is active.
• Booking, payment and subscription records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• CDI scores and questionnaire data are kept for the lifetime of your account.
• When you delete your account, we cancel any Agent subscription, delete your portfolio photos and Digitals, remove your profile details and hide your profile, delete your saved searches, and anonymise your account. Records we must keep by law, and anonymised data that no longer identifies you, may be retained.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data: you can delete your account from your settings.
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time, for example by hiding your profile.

To exercise these rights, email us at contact@skillbnb.io or use the chat widget on our platform. If you are in the EU, you can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

8. Cookies

skillbnb uses cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used.

9. Data Security

We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, private photo storage with time-limited links, and access controls. No system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password.

10. Age Requirement

skillbnb is for people aged 18 or older. Candidates confirm they are 18 or older before their profile becomes visible to recruiters. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor is using skillbnb, please tell us at contact@skillbnb.io and we will remove the account.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will tell you about material changes by email or with a prominent notice on skillbnb.
